I hope this December finds you and your family healthy and happy. I love this time of year around Thanksgiving when we get to reflect on the blessings in our life. Two of the many things for which we are very grateful: having a supportive family and having enough food in our house.

Unfortunately, it’s not the case for many families in the Puget Sound area. As you may know, I am the founder of a business group called BizEnrich. We’re a group of independent business experts who work together to build each other’s practices and to support our community.

I have a favor to ask of you.

One of our favorite charities to work with is Olive Crest, which is a non-profit organization that serves children and families at risk by providing safe homes, counseling, and education for both youth and parents. They believe that strengthening the family is one of the most powerful ways to help children flourish in school and in society.

This year, our friends at Olive Crest are targeting a group of families who are experiencing extreme levels of stress and are at risk of putting their children in foster care.

• They may be military families struggling under the burden of a mom or dad returning from combat who needs special assistance;
• They may be dealing with an addiction issue; or
• One or both parents might have lost a job.

On top of everything else, these families are also facing the challenge of finding enough food to feed their children. This year, Olive Crest has asked us to help bring in donations of food and cash specifically to help these families so they can stay together and mom and dad can concentrate on caring for their children.

That’s where you come in!
